Discover the oldest salt mine in Poland - The Bochnia Salt Mine. It is one of the oldest mines in Europe - established between the 12th and 13th centuries after salt was discovered in Bochnia.

After nearly eight centuries of excavation, it resembles an immense underground town, full of mysterious and unique places.

On the tourist route, you may see ancient chapels hewn from salt rocks, original tools and equipment employed in the mining industry, as well as extraordinary salt chambers.

Summary: Tour includes airport, apartment & hotel pick-ups. THIS TOUR REQUIRES A MINIMUM ORDER OF 2 PERSONS. Rates are per person in US dollars and include tax. Please reserve online, or call us toll-free at 800-984-0571. There is a $3.95 processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

The mine measure 4.5 kilometers in length and 468 meters in depth at 16 different levels. It is the only salt mine in Poland to have an underground sanatorium, complete with an unique microclimate. It is said that spending a few days down in the mine (there are 140 beds available in the co-ed underground dorm) guarantees good health for years. While you are there, you can play billiards or even visit the chapel which is sculpted in salt.
